What are the Costs of a Sailing Holiday?
The costs of sailing holidays can be divided into fixed and variable costs. Fixed costs derive from various services directly attributable to the boat and the handling of mandatory formal requirements. Then, variable costs depend on navigation, participants’ consumption, and others that we have summarised below, specifically to answer our clients’ requests. The most frequent questions are these:
- What services are included in the individual boarding fee?
- What services are not included in the individual boarding fee?
- What are the payment methods and terms?
- How and when do check-in and check-out from the boat take place?
Services Included in the Individual Boarding Fee
The individual registration fee covers a series of basic costs that are listed below:
- The Boat
- The Skipper
- On-board and safety equipment
- Tender and outboard motor
- Gas
- Sheets and blankets
- Boarding taxes
Services Excluded from the Individual Boarding Fee
The individual boarding fee does not cover additional services that are still necessary for your sailing holiday – the additional costs are:
- Provisions
- Fuel
- Port charges
- Registration fee or file opening fee
Regarding provisions, fuel and port charges, a common fund is established, which is approximately €100.00 per week per person. The common fund also covers the skipper’s share and is managed entirely independently, directly by the cruise participants.
Payment methods and terms
A deposit covering 50% of the participation fee is required when booking. The remaining part must be paid within 30 days of boarding.
Payments are accepted via:
- Bank transfer
- Credit card (Visa, Mastercard, AMEX)
