A treasure chest of beauty and mythical imagery

Aegina

The Island of Aegina is one of the favourite tourist destinations because it’s very close to Athens. According to myth, it was named after the nymph Aegina, with whom Zeus fell deeply in love and decided to take with him to the island, descending from the divine abode of Olympus. In the collective imagination, it is the child of the union between a nymph and a god, a fertile land of safe harbours and a unique jewel.

Although small, the island of Aegina boasts many attractions, historical monuments, and natural beauties, such as the suggestive small port, the colourful hills covered with flowers, and the ancient Temple of Aphaia. It also has pristine beaches, like Aiginitissa, Vaya, and Perdika, which benefit from the mild Mediterranean climate.

Agistri

Agistri is a small paradise in the Saronic Gulf, quiet, rich in vegetation, with fabulous sea and well-maintained beaches. Skala, although it is the main port, hosts a charming beach with crystal-clear water. Other locations are Milos and Dragonera, which is a beautiful bay covered with pine trees.

Poros

It comprises two small islands, Spheria and Kalavria, connected by a bridge.

Poros is rich in attractions with many things to do: fragrant expanses of trees, wonderful beaches, and preserves the Temple of Poseidon, built around 500 BC in Doric style.

Arriving by sea with a sailboat, you’ll have a suggestive view of the picturesque town, built on the hills and dominated by the Clock Tower that you can reach with a panoramic walk through neoclassical buildings, taverns, and traditional bars.

Hydra

Not far from the mainland, Hydra is a paradise of tranquillity where cars cannot circulate, and people move slowly, on foot, by bicycle, or with a donkey!

There are many beaches and bays, including Vilchos, perfect for a relaxing swim. Hydronetta is the most famous disco bar on the island, a pleasant place to sip cocktails with music in the background.

Hydra is ideal for enjoying simple things like being lulled by the waves at sunset or savouring a glass of wine with salt still on your skin.

Dokos

These sailing holidays to the Saronic islands will take you to Dokos, predominantly rocky and mountainous with small and naturally clean beaches. Here tourism is not very developed, and it is one of the most appreciated islands by nature lovers, hikers, and enthusiasts of ‘pure’ sailing, as well as diving enthusiasts for the presence of submerged treasures.

In 1975, a group of researchers discovered the remains of a wreck on the seabed of Dokos. The wreck contained artifacts dating back to the Bronze Age (around 2700 BC), which contributed to the subsequent dating of the oldest known shipwreck in the world.

Spetses

The Island of Spetses takes its name from the Venetians, who wanted to call it so because of the scents of Mediterranean herbs emanating from its vegetation.

With a long and glorious maritime history, Spetses was once one of the capitals of commerce and trade. Elegant noble residences from that era still survive in the port of Dapia, along with mosaic squares, trendy cafes, and boutiques.

Spetses, in addition to the elegant architecture to appreciate, offers interesting archaeological finds, splendid beaches, and picturesque bays; among the most beautiful are the golden beach of Paraskevi and that of Agia Marina, ideal for mooring with a catamaran or sailboat.
